AM Air installs all types of split system air conditioning to suit different home and commercial layouts. Single head split systems are ideal for heating and cooling a single room, offering quiet performance and energy efficiency. Multi-head split systems allow multiple indoor units to run from one outdoor condenser, perfect when roof space is limited or different rooms require individual temperature control. For larger homes, apartments and commercial buildings, we also install VRF / VRV systems, providing zoned comfort, excellent efficiency and flexible pipe runs for complex floor plans. We work with Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Fujitsu, Panasonic and more, ensuring reliable, long-term performance
A back-to-back installation is the most common and cost-effective way to install a split system air conditioner. The indoor unit is mounted on an inside wall, and the outdoor condenser is positioned directly behind it on the outside of that same wall. This minimises pipework and labour, making the installation faster, neater and more affordable.
At AM Air, we install your indoor unit securely with correct air-flow direction, run insulated copper refrigeration pipe through the wall, protect services with clean trunking, and mount the outdoor unit on rubber vibration pads to reduce noise.
We also install a weatherproof isolation switch to meet Victorian electrical and safety standards.
This setup is ideal for bedrooms, living areas and small offices, and is recommended when both indoor and outdoor walls are easily accessible.
This air conditioner size calculator helps you determine the cooling capacity needed for your room based on its floor dimensions. Simply enter the length and width of your room, and the calculator will estimate the required air conditioning size in kilowatts (kW). This quick calculation provides a helpful guide to ensure you're choosing an appropriately sized system for your space.

Regular air conditioning servicing is essential to keep your system running safely, efficiently and reliably. Over time, dust, dirt and debris build up inside the indoor and outdoor units, reducing airflow and forcing your system to work harder. Electrical components, refrigerant levels and drain lines also need routine checks to prevent leaks, breakdowns and costly repairs. Servicing ensures your system continues to deliver the right temperature, clean air and consistent performance year after year.
